Kawartha Country Cloggers

Not just anyone can be a Kawartha Country Clogger.  You need to enjoy dancing and having fun to be a part of this group!  If you would like more information about the group please contact Carol at 705.738.4974 or email kawarthian@gmail.com

Carol Chellew - Instructor

Over the years, Carol has tried her hand (and feet) at ballet, jazz and tap but it wasn't until she discovered clogging that she found her fit.  Carol joined the group in 2011 and took on the role of instructing the Beginners Class in 2013.  In 2017 Carol became the Instructor of the Kawartha Country Cloggers and is thoroughly enjoying the challenge.

Diane Tremblay - Beginners Instructor

Diane's dancing career began in Guelph, Ontario when she went line dancing and later was introduced to clogging.  She's been clogging now for over 15 years and after moving to Bobcaygeon, Ontario in 2015, joined the Kawartha Country Cloggers.  In 2017 she became the Beginners Instructor and is actively involved in the club and totally enjoying the clogging experience.

Kawartha Country Cloggers of

Ontario, CN

The Kawartha Country Cloggers is a group of ladies who meet each week to hone their clogging skills for upcoming performances.  Originally called The Clogging Grandmothers who started in 1988, the group changed their name when all the ladies from the original group retired.  Because all of the members live in the City of Kawartha Lakes, the group decided that The Kawartha Country Cloggers would be the official group name.  Every Wednesday classes are offered in Lindsay from 9:30-11:30am.

Over the years, the group has performed at agricultural fairs in Sutton, Beaverton, Lindsay, Fenelon Falls, Minden, Kinmount and Bobcaygeon and at special events such as fund raisers, talent shows and anniversaries.  They also entertain at retirement centers, nursing homes and hospitals.

The ladies attend workshops to learn new dances and choreography.  The Nickel City Festival in New York is one workshop that many members have attended over the last 10 years.
